About

I’m originally from The Bronx, New York, where as a youngster in the late 1970’s realized I was pretty good at drawing stuff and only wanted to write graffiti — which can get a kid into alot of trouble, and I did. By the early 80’s my family moved to Texas where music and playing guitar became a greater passion for me and held lesser risks than vandalizing. After a couple of years of studying art and some music at the University of North Texas in Denton, I moved back to New York to focus on art and design. I earned a BFA in Communication Design from Pratt Institute in 1993, and have been pretty much making a living as a graphic designer in New York City ever since. I’ve worked at design studios, a toy company, an ad agency, a few magazines, a church and, for the bulk of the time since, as a communication consultant. My skills include creative direction, typography, photography (my Flickr page), web design and audio/video editing. In software terms, the list is: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, Flash, numerous audio apps, AfterEffects and using publishing systems such as InCopy. Websites that I have designed have been targeted for Sharepoint, Ektron and WordPress content management systems. Clients that I have created for include: Tiffany & Co., Bertelsmann (Random House), Broadridge Financial, Xerox, Madison Square Garden, Northrop Grumman, JPL, BNY Mellon, Prudential, Viacom, and more. Some of these projects have gained MarCom, Hermes and Communicator awards. I currently work out of my home office in Newark, New Jersey. I still love graffiti art and guitars.
